'The Avengers' passes $1 billion worldwide

I knew The Avengers was going to be a big hit but I didn't realize that it could potentially be the highest grossing film of all time. Just after its second week in theaters The Avengers has passed $1 billion worldwide. The outlook for the film climbing even higher are some of the best of all time.

The Avengers is currently the 11th highest grossing film of all time and will easily jump over Alice in Wonderland, Star Wars: Episode I, two Pirates films and Toy Story 3 in the coming weeks.

However, Cap and the rest of the team has a long way to go to over throw Avatar at $2,782,275,172. And I hope they do because knowing that shitty movie made that much money makes me ill.

Even if they don't reach the #1 spot I'm sure Marvel and Disney are plenty happy with what they're at already. I just hope they send Joss Whedon a nice money hat to direct The Avengers 2.
