There have been rumbling that this would happen in the previous weeks but now it is official. Former head of the games division, Kaz Hirai, will be promoted to CEO of Sony effective April 1st. Current CEO, Sir Howard Stringer, will be stepping down and taking on the role of chairman of the board.
Sony is struggling as a whole right now. The games division, Kaz's former home, has historically done well for Sony. While the PS3 isn't doing poorly, Sony isn't in the same leader position they had during the PS2 years and the PSVita isn't exactly setting the world on fire. What new faces might we see at E3 this year with Kaz being gone?
