A trailer has leaked for a new Rayman game titled Rayman: Legends. The trailer is specifically for the Wii U version of the game but it seems like it will be available for other console, albeit without the special Wii U functionality.
In the trailer you get to see people play the game. It is notable that only one person is using a Wii U tablet while the rest are on Wii remotes. The game looks gorgeous but most notably, the end of the video shows off Wii U NFC capabilities. A girl puts figures on the screen of the Wii U tablet and they are then translated in the game. Shown were a heat that seemingly gave the players powers and a Rabbid figure which added Rabbids to the game world.
The NFC figures are similar to the curiously popular Skylanders games and the iPad game accessories. If Ubisoft is using this tech then you better believe that Nintendo is planning to nickel and dime the shit out of you to buy Mario and Link figures if you want the full experience. It's like a bizarre form of DLC.
It's not fair to judge just yet because we really know nothing but one can make some strong assumptions.
The video below might be taken down but I saved a copy and I'll try to get it up one way or another.
Edit: Just wanted to point out the awesome score from How to Train your Dragon in the trailer.
