Nintendo Announces the Wii mini in Canada Only for Now

Nintendo had a pretty good sales week for the Wii U with over 400,000 consoles shipped missing the Wii's launch by 200,000 units. But the Wii U isn't the only hardware Nintendo is shipping this year — at least not in Canada.

Nintendo of Canada has announced a $99 Wii mini. The completely redesigned console is now red and black and comes with a red Wii remote plus and nunchuck. The redesign also means that there will be no GameCube support or WiFi. The lack of GameCube support seems reasonable given that the special drive to catch those tiny GameCube discs doesn't come too cheap. But the lack of WiFi is really puzzling. Netflix and Hulu Plus get a lot of use on the Wii according to Nintendo. For a family who wants a Netflix box and machine to play some Wii Sports on the Wii mini would be a good option but that is just not the case. Nintendo has already ended support of the Wii unlike Sony did with the PS2.

It is a weird proposition but I must say, I really love the look of the new redesign. I wish the Wii U looked like that even if it was bigger. The Wii mini will be out in Canada only on December 7th. You can probably expect that it rolls out to the US and Europe in the coming weeks and months.

Game Review: Call of Duty: Black Ops II

It's weird to say that jumping out of exploding planes and surviving a L.A. under attack by drones is not exciting but unfortunately it just wasn't. Multiplayer is fun and still what you'd expect from a Call of Duty launch and in my opinion is better than last year's.

Grand Theft Auto V: Trailer #2

Bounce? We're Bouncin' now?

The new trailer for GTA V shows off what you'd might expect from the three main protagonists in a GTA game. It also reveals some potential interesting additions to the dynamic physics engine and hey, theres a dog!

I think animals are the most interesting element added. Of course Red Dead Redemption was full of animals and with the big mountain Rockstar loves touting as a great place to go hiking, the potential for a bear attack seams high.
