Google Releases Official Google Maps App for iPhone

Ever since Apple unexpectedly ditched Google's maps API in favor of their own, iOS 6 users have been impatiently waiting for a Google replacement. Today is that day and Google has released their own client which restores the invaluable Google Maps data and more importantly for me, Street View.

The app is free and available right now in the iTunes store.

Yeah, those are gigantic Gozilla-like creatures destroying. Yeah, those are human made equally gigantic mech suits fighting those monsters. Yeah, that's the voice of GLaDOS. Words can not adequately express the beautiful insanity in this trailer so just go watch it for yourself. Pacific Rim comes out July 12th, 2013.

'Man of Steel' Trailer #2

Here is our first good look at the new Superman film from Zack Snyder, Man of Steel. In this trailer we get brief looks at the major characters including Amy Adams and Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Michael Shannon as General Zod and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Ma and Pa Kent.

I was pretty excited about this film before and this trailer makes the film look even better. Michael Shannon looks great as Zod and Kevin Costner's "maybe" in response to a young Clark is still giving me chills. Man of Steel is out June 14th, 2013.

Oblivion is directed by Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski and stars Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman in a future Earth destroyed by war. Cruise plays a human survivor down on Earth to fix drones for some purpose. Thinking he has been alone this whole time he stumbles on Morgan Freeman in some sweet ass goggles and other humans who don't look too happy to see him. Oblivion opens April 12th, 2013.

'The Phantom Pain' Announced at 2012 VGAs

The Phantom Pain was one of only two big announcements at this year's VGA's (the other being Dark Souls II) and might not be all that new after all. You can see the debut of the in engine footage here starting at 10:45.

Word on the internet is that this new game for next gen consoles is in fact Metal Gear Solid 5. Or perhaps Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. Are they just one in the same? Who knows. NeoGAF has been hard at work picking apart the trailer and at least to me it is pretty clear Phantom Pain is some kind of Metal Gear game. The main characters has a mullet for christ sakes.

However, master of the VGA's himself, Geoff Keighley, took to Twitter to dismantle any of those claims saying "Thanks for all the VGA feedback. The Phantom Pain is an a completely game[sic], nothing that has been shown before. I assure you of that." If the harbinger of Doritos-Dew says it's new it has got to be right?

I think it is pretty clear that The Phantom Pain is some sort of Metal Gear game that Kojima and company will continue to tease for years and years to come.
